THANE: The Shreenagar police have arrested the main accused in the Jaiswal murder case. Ritesh Karade, Pappu Karade and Sunil Karade, the allegedly accused brothers in connection with the daylight murder of Shiva Raghunath Jaiswal (44), a member of the Republican Party of India (RPI).
Jaiswal was brutally murdered in the wee hourson Thursday in Kisan Nagar. The first accused Ritesh, was arrested on the verynext day of the murder whereas the other two brothers Pappu and Sunil werearrested later in the night and were presented in the court yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ritesh has been sent to police custody for furtherinvestigations. On Thursday, Jaiswal and his brother had left their home inKisan Nagar.
When they were on their way to the city on their two-wheeler, Pappualong with his brother and two others approached them near Kisan Nagar-2. TheKarade brothers made Jaiswal and his brother get down from the two-wheeler andtook Jaiswal aside and stabbed him several times with a knife. He had severalwounds on his head, chest and stomach. He was immediately rushed to the hospitalbut was declared dead before admission.
The body was then sent to the Thanecivil hospital for post mortem.
Ashok Morale, deputy commissioner ofpolice, Zone V said, "The first accused was arrested on the next day itself. Theother two accused were arrested on Saturday early in the morning. On the basisof the information gathered, we successfully nabbed the culprits from Khopoli."
It is also believed that Jaiswal had a few cases registered againsthim at the Thane Nagar Police Station since he was involved in undertakingbusiness of pirated CDs. "We have arrested the three main accused and they willbe presented in court. Their motive behind the murder is an old personalenmity," said Vinaykumar Rathod, assistant commissioner of police, (ACP) ZoneV.
